What is Passive Fire Protection?

Passive fire protection (PFP) is a combination of different products solutions to help to stop and/or retard the spread of fire and smoke throughout a building during a fire situation. Most common products part of the PFP range are fire collars, intumescent sealant and paint, rockwool fire insulation, flush boxes intumescent pads, and others.

Passive fire solutions can be required to be installed on the external walls of a building depending on the proximity to other buildings and fire hazards or/and to internal partitions of a building (walls and floor slabs) to help to contain the fire and smoke to the fire cell/floor where the fire started.
